Our census images have been scanned at extremely high resolution. Because of this, the file sizes are large. If you do not have access to a high speed internet connection, your best option is to order the DVD version.

Prices and Formats
DCS provides U.S. Federal census records on DVD and via electronic download. Either version costs $32.99.

Each DVD (or download) contains the same images as found on the original census microfilm roll sold by the National Archives. To simplify the ordering process, we use the National Archives' numbering system for all our digital census records.

Warranty
DCS guarantees its DVDs and downloads for 30 days. Should your DVD or download fail to be function properly within 30 days of its purchase, we will replace it at no charge to you. As long as the failure is not due to obvious customer abuse. We recommend you make a backup copy of your DVD or download as soon you receive it. Once the warranty period has expired DCS does not replace DVDs or downloads which have been inadvertently corrupted or destroyed.

User Agreement. Please read before ordering.

Delivery Time

DVDs are processed within 48 hours, Monday through Friday but please allow a minimum of seven days for your DVD to arrive before contacting us. Most orders will arrive at their destination before then.

Downloads are processed within 24 hours, Monday through Friday. An email, with a download link to your order, will be sent. The link will be active for 72 hours. Please contact us if you experience any problems downloading your census records.

IMPORTANT: Orders are processed specifically for each customer. Because of this, all sales are final. However, if you make a mistake on your order and contact us before it has been processed. We will correct the order at no extra charge.

Orders that have already been processed, cannot be changed without incurring additional charges.

Orders placed after 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Fridays (or on weekends) are processed as if the order had been placed on the following Monday. The same procedure applies for orders placed on any Federal holiday.

If You Are New To Census Research
It's important to understand that the DVD (or download) you order will contain only that portion of the U.S. Federal census records which you ordered, not the entire collection.

A typical microfilm roll from the National Archives has 600 to 700 census pages on it. The U.S. Federal census microfilm collection 1790 - 1930 holds approximately 15,000 rolls and 12.5 million pages.
